CHUCK
PANOZZO will be reading & booksigning for "The Grand Illusion: Love,
Lies, and My Life With Styx"
Friday, June 22 at 7 pm at The Booksmith
(1644 Haight Street in San Francisco)
Chuck Panozzo is the bass
player in Styx, whose mid-'70s hits "Mr. Roboto" and "Lady" are staples of
classic rock radio. "The Grand Illusion: Love, Lies, and My Life With
Styx" is a no-holds-barred, backstage pass to one of the biggest rock
bands of the last three decades. It is also the true story of Panozzo’s
50-year struggle to reconcile his public life as a rock star with his
private life as a gay man.
Chuck Panozzo is the bass player for
and a founding member of Styx - the first band to score four consecutive
triple platinum records. Since 2001, he has been involved in campaigning
for AIDS awareness and gay rights.
This Booksmith sponsored event
will take place at The Booksmith (1644 Haight Street in San Francisco).
