Another fine day...

Although we are still adjusting to the drastic time difference from our Japan trip, being here in New Orleans for a couple of days sure makes the job enjoyable. Yesterday we spent a few hours in a large banquet room here at the Chateau Sonesta where photographer Mark Weiss had converted it into his New Orleans studio, taking individual and group shots.

Once we had gotten what Mark considered enough, we headed out into the French Quarter on foot looking for some colorful location opportunities. It didn't take long before we found ourselves in the middle of Bourbon Street. We are here in the first week of Mardi Gras (officially beginning in about a week, but you could have fooled me) and the streets are filled with people ready to celebrate right now. It was still daylight so it had not yet gotten to full tilt, and we got some pretty amazing shots--we think! Mark will know more once he gets into the darkroom. As you will see, we got some pretty cool digital pics and mpegs already.

Last night we enjoyed the hospitality of one of New Orleans' finest eateries, Delmonico's, in the Garden District. Not only did they not mind the volume coming from our table, they fueled it with a feast fit for a band about to take on the kind of tour this one is. As we rolled out of there a couple of hours later and made our way back to the Sonesta, we were a well fed rock machine. Today we will go in search of more fine locations as well as shooting some video for a press kit, then head home tomorrow.
