Notes from STYX on the Road #24
25-Aug-99 Hi Everyone, Our never-ending journey through one scenic vista after another came to a pause when we arrived here in Boise the day before yesterday. We have been here by the river, catching up on personal stuff like laundry, grooming (Jeanne's Mobile Salon at our service) and a little known thing called sleep. We are now so rested up we are chomping at the bit to get going again. For a while it looked like a tour bus convention here at our hotel. Santana, Mana, Sawyer Brown and our buses took over the rear lot for a couple of days. Drivers taking the opportunity to wash the buses, clean the carpets and all these things one might never consider as part of touring. Just as we were pulling into Wallace, Idaho the day before our show in Kellogg, a deer appeared out of nowhere and was hit by JY's bus, causing quite a scare to all those on board who heard the impact. It was over in a flash for the poor deer, but the bus suffered some damage and the passengers were a bit shaken as they exited the bus at the hotel. We look forward to getting the bus repaired as soon as possible so as not to be reminded of this unfortunate incident. On a brighter note, as you may have noticed, we have posted dates for October here on the web site. We are thrilled to have these in place. In September "Number One" will be released to Rock Radio and in the works is a release of "Witness" to Top 40 radio. Offers from Japan have been coming in and BNW was just released in Germany. It is also a Large New World, and STYX looks forward to taking its ever-growing story to the far corners of said world as soon as time allows. Thanks for your support in making this an unforgettable year. We can hardly wait to see what tomorrow brings! |
