Notes from STYX on the Road #39
30-Oct-99 Hi friends, I just read the note from Jacksonville. I knew I was tired when I wrote it but I wanted to get something posted for you folks who like to keep up with us out here. I am happy my High School English teacher isn't still around to read my writing. I would not have gotten a very good grade on that one! Clearwater was referred to as "here" and "there" in the same sentence, and the shows were "one smokin' " and "one groovin' " and performed for "one attentive" audience! Lol... Sometimes there is just no substitute for sleep! Last night we played here in windy Pompano Beach. It was one enthusiastic crowd. Just kidding. I am well rested now. I am one well rested camper. ;-) Seriously, we had a ball in Pompano and got to see some friends who came down from Chicago, from Boca Raton as well as my old buddy Sammy. Florida is magic and you cannot help but be swept away. (Figuratively, of course--we try hard NOT to literally be swept away here...) So now, I sit in our corner suite, listening to the breeze blowing through the palms and looking at the white caps on the Atlantic just outside our door, and I think--This IS the BEST JOB in the world. Come be a part of it! And I will try and improve my writing skills along the way... |
