Styx has lost a great friend. Tom Short, close friend of Dennis' and good friend to us all, passed away Saturday in Chicago after a long battle with cancer. Tom was always a great sounding board when we were in the early stages of songwriting and had a way of letting us know what was good and what was not, all the while being supportive. He traveled with us from time to time over the years and shared many of our triumphs as a unique insider. His gentle ways, his valiant spirit and tremendous courage were an inspiration and he will be missed more than we can express. Heaven has a new set of ears now but we will never forget his knack for assimilating our work, and his astute appreciation of our music.
