Peoria
21-Jul-96

STYX returned to their tour tonight in Peoria, Illinois. It was an inspired performance and before Dennis sang "Show Me The Way" he dedicated the rest of the tour to John Panozzo's memory. Chuck Panozzo bravely thundered his way through on his bass guitar and you could tell the guys were keeping an eye on him, but he seemed to be fine, though very focused. The fans in Peoria were on their feet the entire show and seemed to be sensitive to the events of the past week. Every song took on new meaning.

The tour continues tomorrow night in Omaha, and the next day Tommy, Jeanne and Bubba go back to their Los Angeles home for the first time in 3 months. "We have the most hated suitcases in show business, because they are extra large and loaded to the max for the long haul. I can't wait to leave some of this luggage behind and travel lightly for a change," Shaw commented at the hotel after the Peoria show. "Bellmen and Skycaps everywhere can soon rest a little easier!"
