15-Sep-96 Full circle... Last night the STYX Tour came full circle when it stopped for the night in Ames, Iowa, not far from Cedar Rapids where the tour began on May 22nd. Lots of people told us at the meet and greet that they'd seen both shows and commented on how the show had evolved, etc.. I got some ragging back stage on my comments regarding how cool Iowa is. But I was sincere. Perhaps it was my 10 years on the farm in Michigan, and because I live such an opposite existence in Los Angeles now. Perhaps because the other guys live close by and are used to this part of the world and maybe even the people of this neck of the woods who wonder what life in Hollywood, CA would be like. I don't know, but Iowa IS a unique place. What I said was, "If everyone knew how great it is here, EVERYONE would move here..." Okay, maybe I did go a little over the top. I was excited, give me a break... 4 shows to go. Can you believe this? It is flying by now. Dancer, the new monitor guy is doing a great job jumping in at the last minute, the audiences are as revved up as you could possibly imagine, and in one week, we will be at home, sleeping in our own beds, suitcases unpacked. This makes me feel funny... See you in Fargo! |
