05-Sep-96 Sweet Home Alabama... We should call this the "Do Stuff, We'll Sleep Later Tour". It has been the most fun tour ever. But as for sleep, you might as well just cross it off the list of possibilities. That ring a bell? Well, tonight was our show in Birmingham. All the other guys got to sleep in their own beds in Chicago for 3 nights and were still buzzing from our Monday Night Football experience. It really was unbelievable (Do Stuff). As for Jeanne and me, we had to get up very early the next morning to catch the plane to Florida and then had to get up at 5:30 the next day for the deep sea fishing trip (We'll Sleep Later). But if ever there was a time to burn the candle at both ends, this tour has been our time. My Mamma brought my acoustic guitar out for "Light Up" tonight. What a sweetie! My brother-in-law, Jim, did me a solid by wrangling my 75 family and friends after the show. He's GOOD! Dennis was a riot tonight during the acoustic set. We could hardly get off the dime he was so ON. And JY was especially POSESSED during his introduction of "Snowblind". It never ceases to amaze me how these guys find new sides of the same coin every night. It NEVER gets boring. Todd was messing with us tonight during "Miss America", hitting some off axis accents, just to see if we were paying attention. That guy is a smokin' drummer...Saw lots of internet folks tonight. It is growing and growing. Thanks for the encouraging words regarding the web site. I always think, "If I was a fan..." It was great to see everyone! Now, on to Florida |
