False End
28-Aug-96

Take a bow... Tommy here again! We are home now from the road. This was to be the end of the tour before we decided to keep going, weeks ago in Palm Beach. It was a great show at Concorde Pavilion last night. We all had dinner the night before on Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco and we were ready to rock the Bay Area. Wes Blackford and his family (caretakers at Jack Blades' Sanoma ranch) were there as well as lots of other STYX members' relatives. Tony LaRusso, St. Louis Cardinals coach and long time friend of Dennis' was there with his family...

One of the most memorable events of our trip to California had to be the trip to President Reagan's office last week. It was an honor to stand next to the man who served two terms as our president. And though it was indeed sad for us to see that Alzheimers was beginning to take some of his brilliance away, there was still a very sweet man very much alive there. I will cherish the photographs we took for the rest of my life...

On the way home today Steve Smith was on the same plane (see our pictures from the road section) and he caught me up on what was new with him. He gave me a copy of the latest "VITAL INFORMATION" CD (sounds great) and we will probably go to see them tomorrow night here in LA. And he mentioned that Journey had finished mastering their new CD just yesterday. My friend at Sony Records says it is awesome. I assured him that their tour would be an undisputed blockbuster next year. Anyone disagree?

We start up next Tuesday night in Montreal. See you there!
