Happy Holidays
15-Dec-96

Greetings friends!

I know, it's been quiet here lately. Don't want to bore you with the long process of starting the next STYX project. But here is where we are as of today , in a nutshell:

We've been speaking to some friends at a certain label who are very interested in joining forces with our team to bring you new and cool STYX music and videos, etc., and the catch has been that in order to make an all new STYX CD, we would miss the opportunity to tour this summer because of the time it takes to create the music, record the songs, create the artwork and so on. So, our current thoughts are to re-mix the two shows we recorded from the RTPT Tour '96, write and record one or two new songs and release a new STYX '96 Live CD and then go on tour this summer. In the mean time, we can commence writing the new record until rehearsal for the tour. When the tour is over we can complete the new studio CD, and release it in conjunction with a 1998 tour. These are the current concepts. Remember what John Lennon said, and I paraphrase: "Life is what happens while we are busy making plans". Still, it is an exciting plan for all of us.

In case you couldn't tell, we had an unforgettable time this summer. Now we want all the folks who didn't get to see us as well as all of you who are interested in our next new show, perhaps to celebrate the 20th year anniversary [did he say 20 years? {:-/ ] since The Grand Illusion. I have a few interesting photos I am going to send but the good stuff will come once we are in the studio, re-mixing the Live CD, so be patient. I cannot imagine you would want to see pictures of us sitting around a hotel room meeting with our manager, although he is really a good looking dude, and we are all SO much better looking now, don't you agree? ;-/

So, don't stop coming by, we are about to rev up the engine and get back into gear and we need you to stay with us. Everyone says hi. They all look to me as the "Cyber Guy", and although I am still not too sure of how this thing works myself, I will keep you posted when there is something of interest. The latest on the Inaugural Ball performance is that the Clinton administration has cut back there entertainment budget, so it is not yet clear if STYX will perform there at The Millennium Ball.

More later. Happy Holidays from STYX!
